Factory Lines

from "My Pappy's Bible" by Joe Cat

/

about

From the experience of working in a dangerous factory at an early age. I left my High School half way through my senior year to go work 3rd shift at a local factory. It was a toxic place, that has since been shut down. As well as attributing to some of the extremely high level of toxins in my home towns soil & water. At the age of 18 I found it to be monotonous, and depressing. Looking towards the senior workers, I envisioned my future.

lyrics

How many hours do we have in a week.
just to make sure that my kids will eat.
Had a new beginning bout a dozen times.
Always working on the factory lines.

Minimum wage or less you see.
Is what I bring to my family.
We have nothing, but we have it all.
Cause I work the line on the factory floor.

No gold watch , no ticket home.
just a message on my telephone.
Dont bother coming back they say.
Factory's gone overseas away.

Now Ill probably die in pain
Health care costs to much these days
Dont matter that Im red, white, and blue
USMC and some other tattoos

Chorus:
Bell rings and I walk the line,
making that stuff till closing time.
I gave up on getting ahead,
and the government won't care when I’m dead.
government won't care when were dead.
