I have been working on these songs for a while and cant wait to share them with you. The albums title is inspired by a Kris Kristofferson song, "To Beat The Devil". The quote from the song, "...The Devil haunts a hungry man, if you don't want to join him, you got to beat him." pretty sums up how I feel.
This song, "A Blink And A Breath", is a few years in the recording but it has been recorded and played live with a few different sets of Guidestones at this point. It is all about a thought that happens to me once in a while while out traipsing throughout the country. I will see some place, that is usually remote, and begin to daydream about what it would be like to be there. Sometimes we talk about how we could live there. All of these good feelings that I get, quickly disappear when reality sets in. Like, this place is totally uninhabitable and that could never happen. Right then, it's gone that quick.
Other songs on the LP deal with, nostalgia, love, love lost, PTSD, police brutality, traitors, dictators, the battle between good & evil, and the memories of great friends gone too soon.
